Raz is currently studying a Masters of Law specialising in Company Law at Leiden University and she is a working student at the law firm Van Doorne. She has worked as a research assistant at Leiden University and has done several internships at law firms. Due to her internship on a litigation department, she has grown a lot of interest for the arbitration practice. Raz is looking forward to start working with a team of motivated students and learn more about arbitration.

Joe is an undergraduate law student on exchange from the University of Bradford. In addition to being a member of the Leiden team, Joe is the President of the Law Society at Bradford and has participated in the OUP Mooting Competition in addition to a Judicial Review Mooting Competition in London. Alongside his studies, Joe has a busy practice as a Flight Instructor.

Mélanie is currently involved in an Advanced Master in International Dispute Settlement and Arbitration at Leiden University. She has been graduated from a Master of International and European Law last year a the catholic university of Lille where she has been participated to the European Law Moot Court competition which gave her a real interest for such competition. Therefore, participating to the VIS moot will be for a real opportunity for applying in a concrete sphere what she is learning in order to be prepared for working then in that field.

Selim is currently pursuing an LLM in International Dispute Settlement and Arbitration at Leiden University. He graduated from Aix-Marseille University in France where he participated in the European Law Moot Court. His interest in Arbitration made him seek for a similar experience in that field. The Willem C. Vis Moot Court is a great opportunity to sharpen his skills in pleading and in litigation. It is also a great challenge that he intends to overcome.

Louis currently studies a Masters degree in Private Law at Leiden University. He has worked as a professor’s assistant at Leiden University and has experience from other moot court competitions. Louis looks forward to working with this team of motivated students to come up with innovative solutions to complex problems.

Lisa is currently studying a Master of Laws specialising in Public International Law at Leiden University. Prior to beginning her LLM studies, Lisa worked as a Judge’s Associate in the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal. Lisa is looking forward to coaching the team alongside Michelle and is confident that the team can achieve great things over the competition.

Michelle Vasco – Team Captain and Student Coach
Michelle is an Ecuadorian lawyer currently pursuing an LLM in International Dispute Settlement and Arbitration. Michelle worked as a lawyer for the Attorney General Office of Ecuador, in the International Legal Affairs Department. The experience gained in that position encouraged her to specialize in international arbitration. The Willem C. Vis Moot Court is a great opportunity for her to gain knowledge and experience in commercial arbitration.
